The EMS ride along program allows EMIG members to experience pre-hospital emergency medical care up close. By pairing our medical students with seasoned EMS supervisors at Harris County Emergency Services District 1, they have to opportunity to respond to the most serious emergencies. Students will not only learn the critical interventions necessary for both medical and trauma patients, but also appreciate the difficulties faced by our EMS professionals prior to their arrival at the doors of the Emergency Department. EMIG members who take advantage of this opportunity are sure to end the shift with some very memorable, yet educational experiences.
